Materials for your Prosumer 3D Printer

CubePro ABS

ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is considered the second easiest material to work with when you start 3D printing. The same kid-safe material that Legos are made of, ABS is also a strong and tough engineering polymer commonly used to produce car bumpers.  Though durable, considerations must be made when printing larger objects as thermal stress can cause ABS to warp as the part cools.

ABS is suitable for light, rigid, molded products with good shock absorption and wear resistance.

ABS has a matte appearance and is available in 24 colors, including glow in the dark and metallic silver.

CubePro PLA

PLA (Polylactic Acid) is probably the easiest material to work with when you’re first starting out with 3D printing. PLA is a biodegradable thermoplastic that has been derived from renewable resources like corn starch and sugar cane. This makes PLA environmentally friendly and very safe to work with.

PLA also has a very sharp glass transition point so if you use a fan to cool it, it will set into a solid very quickly. PLA can achieve a greater range of geometries than are possible with other plastics. It also reduces the thermal stress on the printed part, making warping less of an issue with larger PLA parts.

PLA does not require any curing or post-production treatment. Should you wish to, however, PLA can be sanded and coated with automotive spray filler. PLA can also be painted over with acrylic paint.

Cube ABS

The Cube® prints in solid colour ABS, with one colour per cartridge. 16 vibrant colours are available for use with your Cube.

Cube PLA

The Cube® prints in solid colour PLA, with one colour per cartridge. 16 vibrant colours are available, including glow in dark colours.

VisiJet FTI Black

The ProJet™ 1500 uses VisiJet® FTI materials, available in Ivory, Red, Grey, Blue, Black and Zoom. VisiJet FTI materials create durable plastic parts with excellent, high resolution detail that are tough enough for functional testing and snap-fit applications.

VisiJet FTI Blue

The material used for the ProJet™ 1500 is called VisiJet® FTI Material. It is available in Ivory, Red, Grey, Blue, Black and Zoom. The VisiJet FTI-Zoom material also builds up to 40% faster than the other materials when building in high speed mode.

VisiJet FTI Gray

The material used for the ProJet™ 1500 is called VisiJet® FTI Material. It is available in Ivory, Red, Grey, Blue, Black and Zoom. The VisiJet FTI-Zoom material also builds up to 40% faster than the other materials when building in high speed mode.

VisiJet FTI Zoom

Standard VisiJet® materials are used to print durable plastic parts that are tough enough for functional testing and snap-fit applications. The VisiJet FTI Zoom material produces the same exceptional surface finish and high-resolution details as the available coloured options, but is capable of building up to 40% faster when printing in high-speed mode.

VisiJet FTI Red

The material used for the ProJet™ 1500 is called VisiJet® FTI Material. It is available in Ivory, Red, Grey, Blue, Black and Zoom. The VisiJet FTI-Zoom material also builds up to 40% faster than the other materials when building in high speed mode.

VisiJet FTI Ivory

The material used for the ProJet® 1000 and 1500 is called VisiJet FTI Material. It is available in Ivory, Red, Grey, Blue, Black and Zoom. The VisiJet FTI-Zoom material also builds up to 40% faster than the other materials when building in high speed mode.
